So last night my brother and some of his friends come over, they were all out side talking and being nimrods. Well then this kid comes over and he starts playing basketball or something, well the game does not last long because he brakes our light outside. Not only does he break it but he decides not to tell us and pretend like it never happend. Everyone there told him to tell me and he said No she will make me pay for it. My brother throughs a fit and finaly gets the guy to agree to tell me when I came outside agin. Well it was forgotten about and at around 10 last night I was told by a kid that lived down the street. So I called my brother asking what happend he tells me and gives me the guys phone number. So I have 3 people who tell me what happend and a ton more that saw it happen. So I call the guy and he ignors the phone, Finaly after 30 mins of hitting redial every 10 seconds he answers and sounds cocky like hes about to yell at me.
So I snap and yell are you gonna pay for the ************** ligh you ******** broke?
Now i would have said it nice if he didnt answer the phone like he did.
So he hangs up, Im real mad now not only does our new house look messed up but he was not going to tell me, he answered the phone pissy, and hung up on me. So i hit redial for another 30 mins or so and he hangs up on me agin. So I call back at least 20 more times, then he finaly calls me.
Im so mad hubby and the kids that told me about it were laughing, then I start talking and everyone feeds off my energy and I have to tell everyone to sut it because I cant hear.
So Im yelling at him now, Why didnt you tell me? Would you like it if i messed up your car and didnt tell you? Did you think I wouldnt find out?
he says something like everyone outside told him not to tell me. Hello the people outside were my brother some of his friends (a few happend to be my friends) and the guy who did it. now this guy has everyone thinking he has a very bad mental problem, to the point his brain is child like. I dont belive it for one second, If he was as much as a child as everyone thinks he is he wouldnt be driving, he wouldnt be able to work (not walmart greeter or anything like that), and he sure wouldnt talk to girls the way he does. the only problems I see are he talks kinda strange and he has no respect for girls.

So anyway he gives the phone to his mom who is one of the past miss missouris and I toss the phone to hubby because I dont deal with moms. So they are talking and hubby is getting so mad, finaly he says look I just bought a 156K house and im not about to have some punk *$*&*%%$*#&^ it up. She pulls out the my stuff is better then yours card and starts blabing about how So my house is 500K and blah blah blah so hubby gets mad because he was not tryingto rub our home into anyones face he was trying to make her understand that we just payed a butt load for our house and we dont want it messed up, so he says i dont give a rats &$&$&% what you have then I guess she kept going on about how much money they have because he got real mad and all i herd for a wile was &#&$^&$^$ #^$*($^# #(*$(&$(*&# #(&#( #*(#& ##*(#& I dont give a &#&#^$^. So she gets real mad and hangs up on him. So then I get real mad and call her back and she says i dont know who I was talking to and i say my husband and she says well I dont know who i was talking to but he was quite rude and i say agin MY HUSBAND!! so then she trys to talk nice but its that snotty nice that makes you want to slap someone. She says if you just bought a house why cant you afford now lights? DAUH im 23 and I just bought a house. But I didnt say that i said Look we should have to your son broke it, well hes just a child, BS hes a big boy now, she gets mad and starts going off on why we shouldnt make her pay because her stuff gets broken and no one tells her. Well hello she should probly handle that one and its not like I break her stuff (yeah i said that one) so then she says well they are kids, NO THEY ARE NOT they are adults, well he has a mental dissorder, its not that bad I know the guy he used to come voer all the time. well he didnt mean to, I dont care when my daughter was 5 she had enough respect to tell people when she brok things he should to. Well you handle thinks the way you need to, thats right and youneed to pay for the light.
Well this goes on and on for a wile and I tell her Look i cant afford to buy a new light i just picked up a friend from KS we are broke I cant get the light and bring you a recept, she says well we all have money problems (I swear the tone in her voice made me wasnt to slap her).

so to cut this real long story short to start with we asked for $200 because we didnt know if we could find the same one and may end up needing 2 (we had a matching set but now i have one light and a hole in the wall) We would bring her any change along with recepts and be done with anything. She kept pushing and now she will most likley be giving us clost to $300. we cant find the same ones so i said get the same brand and pick out the closest thing you can find, well they are close to 130$ each. So she could have had her son say sorry and given us the money and we would have covered the rest but she had to through a hissy about the whole thing.

Now im trying to decide on if she should know why he cant be in our house anymore (to put it nicley he said he was bigger then my husband, kept pushing me to let him show me and got mad when I wouldnt give in), were all the money they give him is going (he gives girls between $2,000 and $4,000 to go on a date with him and has a standing offer for anygirl who will sleep with him of getting a brand new mustang) and how dissrespectfull to all girls he is. He treats me with 5 times more respect then other girls because hes scared of my hubby.

her trying to rub her money is hubbys face just pushed all my buttions, I dont care what eveyone has, there are people with more then us, less then us, better people then us, and worse people then us. I dont go around telling people i dont know about my house, big tv, and all that and i expect the same respect.
You could tell in her voice that she though she was better then us, If you have ever been talked down to you know exactly what voice she was using.

This was last night and Im still so mad id love nothing more then to go down there and give little miss missouri a big wake up call. I have no problem making people cry expecaly when they talk down to me, Last night I would have loved to mess up her prity face, today Id just like her to know what kind of son she has. I mean hes a 21 year old man who is treated like a child when its not needed. i have been around many many people with mental problems. everything from a 25 year old with the mind of a 3 month old baby, to someone whos just plain insane and this kid just talks funny and he may be a tad slow but nothing compared to what she tryed to tell me what was wrong with him. When she found out he lied to her she giggled and said "well he has not been totaly honest with me" like it was almost cute.

Wow...I'm sorry that happened, I would have reacted the same as you to be honest. Dang..I dunno..but you are getting new lights, correct? Hopefully he won't come around, and hopefully he's not low enough to sneak around and screw up your house..hopefully. Sorry I said that, I'm suspicious of everyone. :) I hope you get those lights fixed soon.

I must say I was in awww just by reading a quarter of what you wrote. You and your husband were both acting like children. Calling every 10seconds for 30 mins? Then calling back again? How old are you 13? That alone will get you harassment charges, and get your case thrown out of court (if it goes that far I refused to read the rest assuming it was more child antics)

After the first call I would have called the police on you, and filed a harassment case against you screw your damn light. You have made fools out of yourself and your husband.

When the first sentence mentioned a kid broke the light - It does confuse me at the age of those involved. Is the person that broke the light under 18?

While that guy did behave pretty poorly, I would have handled it differently. Calling a hundred times an hour is just going to make him less likely to be helpful.

I dont know why I would have called the cops for that I mean I knew he was at my house so i dont think they would have done anything, at the most they would have rolled there eyes because I was bugging them and then told him to pay for it.

I handle diffrent people diffrently, i could have called a few times called agin some other day and so on and nothing would have been done. I know this guy wont shut his phone off and if I bug him enough he will answer it. he was ignoring me because he didnt want to pay for the light, I knew he was going to do that befor I called.
If one of you guys had broken my light and not told me it would have been delt with diffrently.

When it first did it he told my brother he was NOT going to tell me because he DID NOT want me to make him pay for it.

Its gone way to far, he was talking to some other people and they told him he should give us $40 that would cover it. After looking for hours and hours Hubby finaly found something that looks almost the same (we cant find the same ones if it killed us) and it will cost $181 and some change. Now they are up at Mc Donalds bragging about how the 10 of them are gonna beat me up. What the crap is that?? 10 boys bragging they are going to beat on a girl. When i herd about it I couldnt stop laughing. I dont think they would even try to do anything, but i find it a little funny they are bragging that they are all going to beat me up, not one by one all 10 of them at the same time.

Im not worried about hurassment charges If he wants to try that I can get him for sexual hurassment. Witch eather both cases will be pushed out of court, We will both get in trouble, or he will get in trouble. most likley he will befor i will because I have not talked to a single girl around here that does not have some story about mones offering money, or new cars, or getting real demanding about it.

Like i said hes not to be in my house at all, He has not come over for months untill the other night and i was inside because I didnt want to deal with him. he had to go pee and my brother told him to drive to Mc donalds because he was not to step one toe in my house.

I probly should have told him to go home as soon as i knew he was outside but i didnt want to start anything, I was not outside, and when i did go out to talk to co he didnt talk to me or even get close to me so i figured maby he finaly figured out that I didnt like him.

I had a 15 year old break my mirror, It was some cut glass mirror thing. I was in shock when i saw it but he said sorry and siad he would pay for it I said ok. That was last year, he still has not payed for it but thats because his broke a car window a week later and had to pay us for that (hubby put the window in) and now hes still trying to pay his mom off for that one. The window was a total freak thing that shouldnt have happend He picked up a rock and tossed it into the air, the rock was smaller then the tip of my pinky and the toss was so light if it would have hit you you probly wouldnt have noticed. Well the window does not just chip or break it explodes, glass was everywere and there were 2 holes the size of my fist in the window. I saw it happen and my jaw droped and My eyes got as big as softballs. i was in total shock.
He comes around with my brother sometimes because they skate together.

I have to agree with calling the cops. I understand your frustration, but your repeated calls and then abusive language sort of puts you in the position of making threatening & harrssing phone calls from a legal stand point. You'd have been better off going over there and talking to him & his mother in person, THEN calling law enforcement if you couldn't come to a mutal agreement.

There is no reason for you or rhbby to have to tell her how much you did or didn't pay for your home, nor what your bank account looks like,that is none of her business. Bottom line is he broke the light, there were witnesses and he or she is responsible for paying to replace it.

Although the dollar amount may not justify it in this case, it might be worth checking if your homeowner's insurance applies.

You've used your stupidity limit as well.

I'm not a lawyer, but know a thing or two about the system and you have no chance of a sexual harassment case against him unless he has done something (relatively major) against you very recently. You would however stand a good chance of a small harassment charge against yourself. You sound like a maniac and phone records would agree.

RELAX......you are entitled to the $181 (if I read your ranting and raving correctly). If you dont get it after a polite phone call or two call the police. You can get the $ and a restraining order if you really want (although Miss Mizzou might be more likely to look into that one). Worst case scenario - small claims court is cheap.

Sorry to burst your bubble...but he doesn't owe you the $181, and his mom doesn't owe you squat. You are entitled to "indemnity", which means that he has to return you to the condition you were in prior to the incident. That means, he owes you for the depreciated value of the ONE fixture that he broke. He does not have to go out and buy you all brand new matching fixtures.

He does have a valid harassment complaint, and if you chose to in turn file a sexual harassment charge against him, then the police would see that its clearly retaliatory, and then he could also sue YOU for filing a false police report, which in most states will carry criminal consequences too.

Is a light fixture really worth it?
