This is from the local news station website. People like this make me sick!!

CROMWELL, Conn. -- Dozens of kittens were found dumped behind a Cromwell shopping plaza on Tuesday, according to police.

The kittens and several adult cats were in poor health and animal control officers said the person who dumped them will face criminal charges.

"A concerned citizen called us and said that they had found three crates in the Blockbuster parking lot, and when I arrived to the scene, I found two dog crates and a cat crate, and they were sitting on the pavement and the dog crate had almost 20 kittens in it," said Cromwell Animal Control Officer, Cheryl Gagnon.

She said that after a final cat, there were three cats and 27 kittens, ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months old.

"This is the worst that I have seen for the town of Cromwell, this is the worst that I've seen."

The kittens were recovered in a plaza off Route 9.

Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Eric Parker reported that animal officers think that whoever dumped the cats tried to put them into the shade, but in the early-morning hours they were baking in the sun.

"They were panting, it was hot by 11 a.m. The sun was out. I'm sure they meant to put them underneath the trees, but they weren't underneath the trees, they were on the hot pavement," Gagnon said.

Cromwell police said that they are hoping that someone saw the cats' owner dumping them so they can charge the person with 30 counts of animal cruelty.

"They were dropped off right in front of the parking lot, right where anyone could see them, so anyone who knows anything, please give us a call," Gagnon said.

In the short-term, the kittens will get checked by a vet and then go to animal shelters. Once the cats are nine-weeks old, they will be offered for adoption.

Think of all the adult cats who will be losing their cat souls in the coming months since their place in the shelters will be usurped by fluffy mewing new cat souls!

That does not give you any reason to tell people who dont neuter their animals and yet arnt against it to say something like IT IS TOTLY BAD TO NEUTER ANIMALS. YOU ARE AN IDIOT A BEAST A MONSTER IF YOU DO NOT NEUTER ANIMALS, IT IS TOTLY BAD TO NOT FIX YOUR ANIMAL. IT IS BAD TO HAVE KITTENS You guys auto soften up on people like me who are against fixing animals or people who just dont fix animals. You guys have a reason to be harsh and mean all right but it is a STUPID reason

Remember that post about 36 1/2 kittens in a barrel? I think that was actually referring to CatClyde's IQ.

So CatClyde...have you gone to visit an animal shelter yet? Better yet, volunteer at one?

Perhaps a good job for CatClyde would be to go to all of the unfortunate crates of kittens all over the country and peel all the dead ones out of those crates because they cooked, scrape them off the highway, and then go spend some quality time with a hoarder that has 250 cats living in her home and help her clean the dead ones out of her basement and freezer. Just go see how wonderful of a life you think they really have. Next time one of my dogs kills a stray cat I will call on CatClyde to come take care of the body for me.

Here in great old New Jersey afew days ago this lady had like 56 animals. All in horrible conditions ranging in ages from 1 week to 7 years. Could you imagine living like that for 7 years? But on the bright side over 200 poeple called and wanted to adopt, and they're are only about 6o animals. So most of these animals will have a good outcome.

Shelties=love: That's good news and I'm sure it was because the NJ case got media attention too. My friend's husband said "THIS is all they have to talk about on the news??" Like it wasn't a worthy story. But if people find out, people DO something to help. I haven't heard more about my story but I am sure it will be the same. And in the CT story they were looking for witnesses so they could charge the person who dumped the cats.

please explain why it is better not to alter pets? there are so many "pets" running around suffering and NOT being cared for and loved the way you claim you care. what about all those unwanted kittens and cats at that blockbuster. and there are so many other sad stories such as that. jsut trying to stop the suffering. altered pets are not unhappy. people who take the time and money to do so care and love them. you have not seen a shelter or pound?
PLEASE give an educated reason for your opinion then let it go.

I've been trying to get him to give an educated reason since I started posting here. He hasn't done it because he is not smart enough to. We have resorted to insults because it is the only amusement we can get from him now. He isn't good for anything else!

And they have gone out and multiplied. And when God created man, acording to your Bible, which is your reference, he told him that he was to watch over and care for the animals, that they were man's responsibility. Would that not include preventing thier overpopulation that would cause them suffering? So, by your own religion, people that spay and neuter are doing God's will. By that logic, in order for it to make sense, you would also have to be against any form of birth control to not be hypocritical. Nice try though, you are on the right track! Keep looking into it and you will find some even better reasons that I cannot revoke. There are even more compelling facts out there, you just have to look. Educate yourself and your opionion may get some respect yet.

God gave man responsiblities to care for His creations-including animals, and i do believe that includes spaying/neutering to stop the needless suffering. people can't control everything, but that does not mean we ignore. the more people that take responsiblity the less "pets" suffer. there are those who caringly breed that know what they are doing and have the time and money and "education" to do so. the rest of us must do our parts to care for them. animals do not and cannot think or reason like people. some people just choose not to care.

That is so sad. How can people stand to do that to these poor animals? What awful awful people! It makes me sick and oh so angry!

Many people enjoy the companionship of cats and dogs, who were domesticated thousands of years ago. Over time, people have manipulated animal breeding to produce certain physical characteristics, resulting in the different types of cats and dogs we know today. But domestication took these animals out of their natural environment, and their reproduction is no longer regulated by predators or habitat. The result is an overpopulation crisis that can only be controlled through widespread spaying and neutering.

I do agree that if you have no intention of taking care of your animals and their offsprings you need to have them fixed, or find homes for them that will. However many people wish to have more animals from their animals. It's a personal decision to fix your animals. Just like us we ( in most cases ) decided when to have more children. Should they sneek up on us, we care for them and accept responsibility. Who ever dumped the kittens has to live with what they did, the best we can do is find homes for them. I would love to addopt a few of them. What goes around, comes around. Chose your words wisely.
