Difficulty with going to the bathroom

I've recently started my GSD puppy on a raw diet but he's now having issues when going to the bathroom. His stools have become rock hard and it hurts him to go to the bathroom. Any suggestions?

I would recommend that you feed a Holistic Puppy food and supplement a raw diet for the first year of a German Shepherds life. I feed my older puppies 2 cups of Eagle Pack Large breed Puppy Food twice a day and supplement a 1/4 pound of raw each day.
