Papillons

Hi, i have a 1yr old Papillon. she has just been diagnosed with 2 rear patellar luxations. Her left is worse than her right. i would say they are a Level 2-3.
Me and my partner are discussing surgery as the vet suggested.
I just want to know if anyone has experience with any papillons having this condition and had/not had surgery and what their outcome was & if it is really worth the surgery. When the patella pops out it does not cause her any pain at the moment & has been going on for about 2-3 months.
I think her condition is genetic rather than Trauma.
