Choking & Spitting up
What to do?

My Goldendoodle puppy has been choking and spitting up small amounts of clear liquid for 15 minutes. She was to the vet today and negative test (right now) for worms. She did get 2 vaccines today. No sign of reaction. Vet say's she is in great health.

I have had her for a week and she has choked and spit up small amounts of liquid at most 2x per day - nothing yesterday.

The breeder who I bought the dog from and my brother, who breeds Labs recommended Happy Hound Food. She seems to do ok with it but Vet recommended a food for puppy's - large breed - so I did the 75/25 mix tonight.

But, I just don't think it's the food - she is not spitting that up.

Anyone have any ideas? I just feel so bad for her...

How often to you feed the pup? Some pups spit up stomach acid when they are overly hungry.

She did eat 3x today. She is still very playful and in good spirits.

When are the episodes of choking/spitting up with regards to other events of the day? You might need to write these things down to see the pattern.

I'm not a doctor, but this doesn't sound serious -- just annoying.

That's the wierd part. THis is happening mostly in the evening, well after she is done eating for the day.

My mother owns a Maltese and she has to give him an OTC acid reflux tablet every morning. He started with the same symptoms you are mentioning here. Her vet instructed her on what to give and things have been fine since.

Thank you, will call Vet in the morning about the OTC for acid reflux. She is doing it again tonight. I feel so bad for her.
