Oh my gosh! I've never heard of another pet owner with this same "fruit thing." Our Yellow is 9 years old and for as long as we've had him, he has loved, LOVED, apples. We have videos of him jumping off all fours to grab an apple off the tree. LOVES ...

I think the breeder has a good point. Mama dog may just take some of the work out of training. Seeing how this is not a rescue animal, I don't see the harm in waiting. I know how hard it is to wait, but you may find a more well-behaved pup afterwards...

The pooch and owner need each other. I think it would be cruel to both to separate them. If someone is having a hard time financially, then maybe someone else could offer to help with vet bills temporarily?

I can't believe the amount of info in this thread. My issue isn't a puppy, it's an aging lab. Does anyone have an opinion on the best dog food for an aging dog? I know a lot of dog foods claim to be specific for aging dogs but are they really?

I feel so badly for you and your cats.

It's horrible how one person can act so selfishly and ignorantly.

I agree it's best to keep your cats inside. But, I would hound your local animal officers to watch this neighbor.
