Check into Doggy day care and or dog walkers, or get a neighbor/friend teenager to take your new friend out a few times a day while you are at work.

VET TECH is want you want, you MUST go to an AVMA approved school though, which penn foster is not as far as I know, the REAL VET TECH schools are few and far between though....BUT There is one in St petersburg Fla that is the real deal and is onlin...

It is great that you took her to vet, and if she worsens I would go to the vet again. It could be... may be she picked something up from being out and about, or maybe she even got into something while you were not looking. Worse...

It can range from 101 to 102, anything over 102 my vets deem start of a Temp, no this is old way with a rectal therometer. Some vets are using the new ear therm. and I am not sure how those are read.

There central nervous system is still developing, a lot of times they will make sudden jerky movement too. ARE they Eating/nursing well?? If you are concerned it is always good to go see your vet.

What are the reasons they give for not shipping the dog? What state are they in, maybe it is too cold. I would see if you could try and track down someone who has used this breeder, if you ask for references from the breeder themselves, ...

I would let your vet know of this problem and ask if your vet to check the Thyroid Function of your dog and may be run some other tests too. Weight gain for no apparent reason is a classic sign of Hypothyroidism. Good LUCK!!
