Dill Pickles is still missed...

We lost our beloved Pug, Dill Pickles, on New Year's Day several years ago but as we approach the same holiday in a month, I look back and remember his sweet face. My dad accidently backed out of the driveway and didn't see Pick running up behind the truck. It was a horrible morning, listening to him cry and trying to see if he'd make it. Dad ended up taking him out to the country and ending his pain, burying him in a patch of wild flowers. He was the best dog! Yah, he drooled. He farted in his sleep and his snoring was louder than my grandfather's, but he was family. We had him for about 11 or 12 years and I am still of the belief that he had a few more years on him, but God knew it was his time. When our pets die in such tragic circumstances, it's hard to think of the pain and fright they must have been feeling, but comfort comes to know that they aren't feeling that now. They are at peace and I know that Pick would want us to be happy and to move on with our lives. He used to fall asleep on the floor with his legs all flat, spread out like frog legs. It was hilarious! I miss his curly tail, his little snorting sound he made when he ate, his black nose and all those wrinkles on his face...he has probably turned out to be one adorable little canine angel!
