Ode to Smudgie
My heart is heavy my home is empty but my life was fuller and the love we shared has never been stronger. You came into my life and helped me through and now that things are going better your job was done. You brought me love when I felt there was none, you gave me hope when it seemed too far to reach. You gave me peace when the world felt so full of turmoil and calmness when needed most. We traveled together, we shared so many meals, we had secrets to keep and many journeys too. I miss you my friend and know the love we had was shared was nothing but true. As I held you in my arms that day (7/16/12) and I saw your life slip away, my heart was broken and I knew you'd be with me again some day not too soon. Love and miss you mom.
