Nylabone Durable (nylon) are recommended for strong chewers. Softer Nylabone Flexible (plastic polymer) and Rhino (rubber) are not for strong chewers. As a pet owner, you have a responsibility to select the size and formulation appropriate for your dog's chewing strength and size.Nylabone Plastic (Durable and Flexible) Chews are not intended for consumption. During normal chewing, tiny bristle-like projections are raised, which help to clean teeth. If ingested, they should pass through. The dog should not break off large pieces of any Nylabone Plastic Chew.Nylabone Edible Chews contain no plastic, are made from wholesome ingredients, and are edible and digestible; providing an enjoyable alternative to traditional rawhide. You must choose the right size for your dog and be sure he does not break off and swallow large pieces.Make sure you select the appropriate size Nylabone Chew for your dog.Small/Petite: less than 15 lbs.Medium/Regular: less than 30 lbs.Large/Wolf: less than 50 lbs.Giant/Souper: more than 50 lbs.If you have more than one dog in your household, select chews appropriate for the largest, strongest chewer.Puppies: Nylabone Edibles are not recommended for some young puppies. Consult your veterinarian for the right time to start your puppy on any edible product. Replace smaller size chews as your puppy grows. Dogs and puppies with any adult teeth should not use Nylabone Puppybone or Puppy Teething Keys.Frequently inspect your Nylabone before giving it to your dog to make sure it's whole and intact, with no missing pieces. Replace plastic chew when knuckle ends are worn down, or if it becomes too small or is damaged in any way. If you think your dog swallowed a piece of a plastic chew larger than 1/4", promptly take chew away from dog and contact your veterinarian for advice.To clean Nylabone plastic chews, scrub with a brush under warm water, using mild detergent, and rinse thoroughly. Inspect for wear while cleaning. Nylabone chews and toys should not be boiled, placed in the dishwasher, washing machine, convection, or microwave oven (exception: please check specially marked packaged for select Healthy Edibles microwave-approved flavors). Be sure chew cools completely before giving to the dog.Nylabone chews or toys should not be given to young children or to pets other than dogs.Provide variety for your dog. Rotate the Nylabone chews and toys that you offer and remember to supervise the use of these items.
