RF-275 ReceiverThe RF-275 Receiver contains electronics to detect the magnetic field carried by the containment boundary wire, translates them, and delivers a static correction. The static correction is delivered through two contact probes that touch the dog's neck. There are two sets of contact probes that can be used on your receiver. The longer probes should be used on dogs with long hair. The RF-275 Receiver is enclosed in a waterproof case and is mounted on a polypropylene collar. The collar will fit a dog with a neck size varying from nine to 22 inches. The RF-275 Receiver contains a LED indicator light. The light acts as a low battery light and confirms which one of the five correction levels are set.The receiver is equipped with memory backup. After you replace the battery in the receiver, you will not have to reset the correction level. The LED indicator light will flash for the correction level last set.Inserting the Battery in the ReceiverUsing a phillips head screwdriver, remove the four screws from the back cover and take the cover off of the receiver. Once open, connect a 9-volt alkaline battery to the battery connector. Place the connected battery into the receiver and replace the back cover.Testing the SystemChanging the Correction Level: The correction levels change incrementally from the current level and revert back to one from five. Refer to the Receiver LED Function and Response table to choose the correction level that best fits your pet. Remove the switch cover with a small coin. With battery installed, press the small button (correction level switch) on the receiver until the LED lights and release. The LED will then flash to show the current correction level. To change to the next level, push the button in again once the last flash has been displayed. Please note that the button must be pressed within five second from the last flash to change to the next level. After setting the correction level, replace the switch cover to protect the switch from the outside environment.Receiver LED Function and ResponseCorrection Level 1: No Correction, Beep Only.LED Indicator Light Response: 1 FlashCorrection Level 2: Lowest Correction.LED Indicator Light Response: 2 FlashesCorrection Level 3: Medium CorrectionLED Indicator Light Response: 3 FlashesCorrection Level 4: Medium High CorrectionLED Indicator Light Response: 4 FlashesCorrection Level 5: High CorrectionLED Indicator Light Response: 5 FlashesLow Battery: Flashes every four to five secondsTesting the Receiver: Attach the test light to the probes. Walk towards the boundary wire until the test light begins to flash. This will indicate the system is functioning properly. If the test light did not flash, check the battery installation, and be sure that the probes are secured hand tight.Placing the Receiver on Your DogWhen placing the receiver on your dog's neck, make sure it is positioned where the two contact probes are touching your dog's skin. If your dog's hair is so thick that it keeps the contact probes from touching your dog's skin, you might want to use the longer probes that are supplied with your system.Note: The collar is properly positioned when you are able to get one finger between the contact probes and your pet's skin.Caution: Leaving the collar on too tight and for long periods of time can cause pressure necrosis. This is a condition where the skin deteriorates over time. To prevent this, check and clean your pet's neck.
