Please read all directions and follow them carefully.Unpack and identify all parts:HosingRim connector assemblies (2)Suction Cups (4)Intake assembly with suction cupOutput nozzle assemblyAquaStop valveCanister cover/pump housingInstant-prime handle (attached)Lift-lock clamps (attached)Impeller cover and cover gasket packed separately in a plastic bagImpeller shaft tool: Models 105 & 205 onlyFilter canister (media baskets inside)Decide on Filter Placement The canister base must never be more than 4.5 ft. below the water level.Hosing must follow a straight path from the filter to the aquarium rim, with some slack, but no loops.The water level should never be more than 7 in. below your aquarium rim.Never install the filter above the water level. Intake tube should not be positioned in close proximity to an air source.Place bottom half of rim connector assemblies over top edge of aquarium One for the intake and one for the Output. Do not place the Intake near the air source. Attach suction cups to rim connectors.Prepare intake & output connectorsAttach hosing to intake connector on the AquaStop ValveMeasure and cut hosing at a point about 4 inches beyond aquarium rim.Attach hosing to intake assembly.Click suction cup on to intake assembly.Position top half of the rim connector assembly over the hosing.Repeat Steps A through E to install the Output Nozzle. Note that the Factory Finished End of hosing should be attached to the AquaStop valve.Prepare the Filter MediaRemove the foam, foam screen frame, media, baskets and media cover from the filter canister. Note the sequence the media was packed in, this is the recommended media placement.Rinse all with running water. Remove media from poly bags but do not remove the Carbon from the porous bag.Place media in baskets, foam in foam screen frame. Place baskets and foam screen frame back in filter canister and put cover on top basket.Complete Canister AssemblyCarefully fit gasket into channel around base of coverPosition impeller cover over impellerPlace cover on canister and lock lid in place. DO NOT FILL CANISTER WITH WATER.Starting the FilterInsert the AquaStop valve into take and output connectors on cover. Push silver lever all the way down to lock in place. Open the AquaStop valve by pushing the black lever, all the way down.Check all connections.Pump the instant prime handle until canister fills completely with water.Plug in filter.Consult User Manual for additional information.
