An extra uplift tube and connector are included for added height.Insert the airline through hole in elbow and attach the airstone into the airline.Guide airstone into the uplift tube, dropping it down to secure elbow to uplift tube. Adjust the airstone to approximately filter-plate level (bottom of plate connector).Place filter plate into aquarium (one section at a time, if necessary) and connect.To install disposable carbon cartridge, simply place the bottom notch into the grate of the elbow and then slide the top into place. Note: the top of the cartridge is smooth.Connect uplift tube assembly into the filter plate.Adjust height of elbow by raising or lowering uplift tube to keep elbow below water level. Lee's Carbon Cartridge can replace the elbow, if desired.If you need a longer uplift tube, you can purchase desired length of 1" tubing. If the assembly is too tall, cut the uplift tube to the right size.
