The pump must never be used without its cage.In order to prevent the pump from sucking dirt directly from the pond bottom, we recommend that you install it on an elevated surface that is flat and level. It is recommended that you secure the pump to a fixed base by using the keyhole-shaped slots located at the bottom of the cage, which is shaped to allow the fast emerging/disengaging of the pump from the base.Check that the information on the nameplate (which is located on the pump) corresponds to the power supply. The electrical installation and wiring must comply with the safety standards in your area. If unsure, ask a qualified electrician to do the wiring. The electrical receptacle/socket must be located in a dry, protected and easily accessible place.WARNING: Always unplug or disconnect all appliances in the pond from the electrical supply before installing, repairing, maintaining or handling the equipment in the water.IMPORTANT: To achieve the best pump operation, always use the largest bore hose possible.
