English Springer Spaniel

The Finnish Spitz is a small-sized breed of dogs of Finnish origin. Amongst other characteristics, they are most well known for their lively and alert nature.

This attractive looking breed has a typical Spitz appearance, with sharply pricked ears, dark, almond-shaped eyes, pitch-black nose and a wedge-shaped head with a scissor bite. These dogs look immensely graceful with a square, well-balanced and symmetrical body structure.

The Finnish Spitz is an exceptionally energetic, active and lively breed of dogs. These dogs are extremely fond of company and will love to spend time around the family members. In fact, many of the Finnish Spitz breed have been known to be actively involved in games with the younger ones in the family.

However, experts strongly insist that even in routine, these dogs cannot handle rough play. It is normally advisable to keep a supervision at the playtime, especially when they are with small children. The activity should be ideally dropped immediately at any sign of aggression from the dog, failing which it can prove harmful for the children around.

This lively breed of dogs is also highly curious about its surroundings. It is a common sight to see the Finnish Spitz exploring its environment with a keen sense of curiosity. These dogs are especially attracted to any new surroundings around them and will be strongly tempted to explore on their own.

The Finnish Spitz also loves to follow their owner in and around the house. It is a very sociable and lively breed and will strongly dislike being left alone for longer durations. Any such duration where these dogs are forced to stay without company for long will make them bored, irritated and even destructive. In addition, being an active breed, the Finnish Spitz will also want regular hours of play and physical activity, which is highly crucial to their overall well-being.

In fact, owing to their playful and lively nature, the Finnish Spitz are often considered to be the best pet dogs, especially from the viewpoint of the children and older people in the household. These playful creatures will even love to play with toys, especially the chewable toys meant for dogs only. Besides, they are also very intelligent by nature and can manage to learn things very quickly.

In addition to being very lively, the Finnish Spitz are also a very alert species of dogs and respond well to any happenings in their surroundings. They are especially sensitive to any commotion and will react immediately to anything suspicious around them. Interestingly, it has been observed that the dogs of the Finnish Spitz breed have a natural expression of a scowl, which makes them look as if they are always on the alert and on the run.
